KADENA AIR BASE, Japan (July 23, 2015) - A U.S. Air Force Airman from the 18th Civil Engineer Squadron guides a U.S. Navy Sailor from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5 as he pushes debris into a crater during joint airfield damage repair training. The training gave U.S. Air Force and Navy participants the opportunity to gain familiarity with one another while practicing skills they could potential implement in a wartime environment.

Tisby, right, stationed with Combat Logistics Company 36 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, carry Sgt. Kendrick Moore, a motor transport operator with CLC-36, to a safety vehicle during Exercise Dragon Fire 2015.  Dragon Fire enables Marines and Sailors to engage their combat mindset to prepare for the mental and physical stresses of a combat zone. Moore simulated an unexpected injury during this training scenario that allowed the corpsmen to respond as if there was a real emergency.

Members from the 353rd Special Operations Group worked with the 36th Contingency Response Group from Andersen Air Base, Guam, to open Wake Island air field after Typhoon Halola passed through the island.

Pacific Partnership Concludes Successful Visit to Solomon Islands

HONIARA, Guadalcanal (July 24, 2015) - Commodore, Task Force Forager Capt. James Meyer welcomes a representative from the local government to the closing reception of Pacific Partnership. Task Force Forager, embarked aboard the Military Sealift Command joint high speed vessel USNS Millinocket (JHSV 3) is serving as the secondary platform for Pacific Partnership, led by an expeditionary command element from the Navy's 30th Naval Construction Regiment (30 NCR) from Port Hueneme, Calif. Now in its 10th iteration, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership, missions have provided medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary service to more than 38,000 animals.

The MPVA invited the 8th Fighter Wing to participate in the event as representatives of the U.S. military.

TARAWA, Kiribati (July 25, 2015) - A 3rd Marine Regiment color guard takes its place during a repatriation ceremony.  The ceremony honored the remains of approximately 36 Marines who fought and died during the Battle of Tarawa during World War II, and were loaded onto a C-130J Hercules aircraft to be transported back home to the United States.

ROXAS CITY, Philippines (July 23, 2015)-  Filipino first responders, members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. Navy and a Korean surgeon remove a simulated crash victim from a vehicle at Capiz National University. The training was part of a weeklong humanitarian assistance disaster relief symposium held in conjunction with the hospital ship USNS Mercy’s (T-AH 19) visit to the Philippines for Pacific Partnership 2015. Mercy is currently in the Philippines for its third mission port of PP15. Pacific Partnership is in its 10th iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary services to more than 38,999 animals. Additionally, the mission has provided critical infrastructure development to host nations through more than 180 engineering projects.
