190809-N-SH284-0046 PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (Aug. 9, 2019) A Sailor salutes as the national ensign is unfurled over the remains of two brothers, Seaman 2nd Class Calvin H. Palmer and Seaman 2nd Class Wilfred D. Palmer, during a repatriation ceremony at Sunset Lane Cemetery. The Palmer brothers perished when their battleship, USS Oklahoma (BB 37), was attacked by Japanese aircraft at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. Their remains went unidentified until they were exhumed for analysis from the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2015. SOUTH CHINA SEA (August 6, 2019) An F/A-18F Super Hornet, piloted by Cmdr. Harry Evans, commanding officer of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 102, lands on the flight deck of the Navy™s forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). This was Evans™ 1,000th arrested carrier landing. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
