PACIFIC OCEAN (June 24, 2014) - View Caption Hide Caption The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111), front, pulls away as the amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47) approaches the Military Sealift Command fast combat support ship USNS Rainier (T-AOE 7), center. The amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) is conducting a replenishment-at-sea with Rainier. The ships are en route to participate in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2014 exercise from June 26 to Aug. 1.

PALAWAN, Philippines (June 24, 2014) - Philippine marines file into landing craft air cushion (LCAC) 30 for transport to Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48). Ashland is participating in exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2014, a bilateral maritime exercise series between the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Timor-Leste.
