Two Combatant Craft Patrol Boats Report for Duty in Pacific

The Mark VI Patrol Boat, assigned to Coastal Riverine Group One, Detachment Guam (CRG-1 Det Guam) is offloaded at Naval Base Guam.  CRG-1 Det Guam is assigned to Commander, Task Force 75, the primary expeditionary task force responsible for the planning and execution of coastal riverine operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving engineering and construction, and underwater construction in the U.S. 7th fleet area of operations.

The bomb skid will then be transported to the line, where the munitions are loaded on to aircraft. Southern Frontier afforded Iwakuni Marines the opportunity to train with high explosive weapon body groups typically not used in Japan, while expanding technical and tactical proficiency in their craft. Munitions built during this training are in support of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 122, who also gain experience and qualifications in low altitude, air-ground, high explosive ordnance delivery at the unit level.
