The Latest Stryker Vehicle is Built for Extremes

Boasting an upgraded chassis and drivetrain along with a variety of mechanical, electrical and digital improvements to enhance its performance, a new variant of the Stryker Combat Vehicle underwent a winter of extreme use at U.S. Army Cold Regions Test Center earlier this year. "It looks like a regular Stryker, but it isn't," said Richard Reiser, test officer. "It has a larger engine that significantly increases horsepower and torque."

(July 19, 2018) -  USS Coronado (LCS 4), an Independence-variant littoral combat ship, launches a Harpoon Block 1C missile for the first time during exercise Rim of the Pacific (Rim of the Pacific). Twenty-six nations, 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 30 to Aug. 4, in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2016 is the 25th exercise in the series that began in 1971.

Exercise Arctic Chinook is a joint U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Northern Command-sponsored exercise on the U.S. State Department approved list of Arctic Council Chairmanship events. The Arctic mass rescue operation exercise scenario consisted of an adventure-class cruise ship with approximately 200 passengers and crew that experience a catastrophic event with the need to abandon ship. Arctic Chinook exercised elements of the Arctic Search and Rescue Agreement to include interoperability, cooperation, information sharing, SAR services, and joint exercise review.
