Navy Medicine’s Top Researcher Visits Southeast Asia; NAMRU INDO PACIFIC Shows Off

KOTA KINABALU, Malaysia (July 22, 2024) Capt. Andrew Letizia, science director for Naval Medical Rsearch Unit (NAMRU) INDO PACIFIC points to a map of the island of Borneo while briefing Malaysia’s state of Sabah to Capt. Franca Jones, commander, Naval Medical Research Command during an official site visit. NAMRU INDO PACIFIC, part of the Naval Medical Research & Development enterprise and headquartered out of Singapore, conducts research in cooperation with host nations in Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand to improve global health, ensure military force health protection and address infectious diseases such as malaria, dengue fever virus and gastro-intestinal pathogens.
