Khaan Quest 2016 Officially Ends with Closing Ceremony

ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia (June 04, 2016) - Chairman of the State Great Khural Zandaakhüügiin Enkhbold greets Maj. Gen. Gregory Bilton, Deputy Commanding General of Operations for U.S. Army Pacific, prior to the Khaan Quest 2016 Closing Ceremony at the Five Hills Training Area. Khaan Quest 2016 is an annual, multinational peacekeeping operations exercise hosted by the Mongolian Armed Forces, co-sponsored by U.S. Pacific Command, and supported by U.S. Army Pacific and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. Khaan Quest, in its 14th iteration, is the capstone exercise for this year’s Global Peace Operations Initiative program. The exercise focuses on training activities to enhance international interoperability, develop peacekeeping capabilities, build to mil-to-mil relationships, and enhance military readiness.

Green Dot Takes Effect Across Air Force

The non-profit organization Green Dot has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Air Force to support its five-year strategy to curb interpersonal violence across the service. CARAT is a series of annual maritime exercises between the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the armed forces of nine partner nations to include Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.

Japan Training Squadron Visits Pearl Harbor on Around the World Deployment

Adm. Scott Swift, commander U.S. Pacific Fleet, inspects the Sailors assigned to the Japanese training vessel JS Kashima (TV 3508) honor guard detail at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Kashima is joined by Asagiri-class destroyer JS Asagiri (DD 151) and Japanese training vessel JS Setoyuki (TV 3518) for a scheduled port visit. While in Hawaii, Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force Sailors will participate in various professional exchanges, social events and official meetings with U.S. counterparts to reinforce a commitment to peace and security in Northeast Asia as part of the U.S.-Japan alliance.
