U.S. Navy, JMSDF EOD Technicians Strengthen Ties during Mine Exercise

SANTA RITA, Guam - Explosive ordnance disposal technicians assigned to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and the U.S. Navy participate in a live bottom mine contact charge demonstration during IWOTO 2019. IWOTO 2019 is one of the largest live mine countermeasures exercises conducted in the entire world, providing personnel with the opportunity to conduct contact charges and FMRs against real mines without sensor packages.
