Commander, USINDOPACOM, Cements the Importance of U.S-Australian Alliance
Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Adm. John C. Aquilino and Royal Australian Air Force Air Vice-Marshal Joe 'Vinny' Iervasi meet with the crew of a U.S. B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber on Amberley Air Force Base. The B-2 Spirit is a multi-role bomber capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear munitions. Its low-observable, or "stealth," characteristics give it the unique ability to penetrate an enemy's most sophisticated defenses and threaten its most valued, and heavily defended, targets. Aquilino is visiting Australia during a multi-country trip to meet with regional leaders to strengthen U.S. relationships and reaffirm the importance of a free and open Indo-Pacific.

Air Defense Soldiers rehearse PATRIOT battle drills during Keen Sword/Orient Shield 21
Soldiers with 1st Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery Regiment, rehearse battle drills with the PATRIOT long-range, all-altitude, all-weather air defense system capable of countering tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and advanced aircrafts to enhance crew-drill proficiency during Keen Sword/Orient Shield 21 at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Oct. 28. KS/OS 21 is a joint expeditionary bilateral exercise, which allows Japan Self-Defense Forces and U.S. military forces to work together across a variety of areas, enhancing the interoperability of U.S. and Japan forces.

Team Kadena Operators Honor Ultimate Sacrifice
U.S. Airmen and family members with the 320th Special Tactics Squadron and the 31st Rescue Squadron conduct a memorial ruck march at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Oct. 25, 2019. The ruck featured over 1,000 lbs. of equipment and water hauled across five miles. The memorial ruck served as a symbolic gesture of shared suffering among special operations forces service members, in honor of two pararescueman, Tech. Sgts. Peter Kraines and Sean Barnes who died after sustaining injuries during training incidents in 2014 and 2019.

Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Gabrielle Giffords (LCS 10) launches a Naval Strike Missile (NSM) during exercise Pacific Griffin. The NSM is a long-range, precision strike weapon that is designed to find and destroy enemy ships. Pacific Griffin is a biennial exercise conducted in the waters near Guam aimed at enhancing combined proficiency at sea?while strengthening relationships between the U.S. and Republic of Singapore navies.
