A civilian employee assigned to Joint Task Force-Red Hill (JTF-RH) monitors video feeds from the newly installed cameras at the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility (RHBFSF), Halawa, Hawaii, Aug. 29, 2023. The cameras represent one layer of JTF-RH’s multi-layered approach implemented to quickly respond to a threat to the environment or human safety which are monitored 24-hours a day during fuel line repacking and defueling of the storage tanks. Repacking is necessary to remove all air from the pipelines and ensure a stable flow if fuel when gravity defueling the main underground storage tanks. (DoD photo by U.S. Marine Corps Cpl.
