Exercise Beverly Midnight 15-4
KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea (July 16, 2015) - A 35th Fighter Squadron F-16 Fighting Falcon taxis on the Kunsan Air Base runway as an 80th Fighter Squadron F-16 Fighting Falcon takes off during Exercise Buddy Wing 15-4. The five-day quarterly operational readiness exercise enhanced strategic capabilities at Kunsan by generating combat airpower in a simulated chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosive environment.

Northern Edge 2015 battlespace, maximizes training capability
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska (June 25, 2015) Live, virtual and constructive (LVC) participants from various U.S. military branches are tracked by the 353rd Combat Training Squadron as assets move into place in preparation for an Exercise Northern Edge scenario. The LVC system enables live participants like this U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon deployed to Alaska to directly engage and interact with virtual aviators operating from home station simulators, and contructive computer-generated forces to provide more robust training scenarios. Northern Edge 2015 is Alaska's premier joint training exercise designed to practice operations, tactics, techniques and procedures as well as enhance interoperability among thousands of Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen from active duty, reserve and National Guard units.

Pacific Angel Papua New Guinea 15-4
GOROKA, Papua New Guinea (June 1, 2015) - U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Randolph Callender, 36th Medical Operations Squadron optometry technician, Andersen Air Base, Guam, uses a portable autorefractor during Pacific Angel 15-4 at Unggai Primary School in Papua New Guinea. The portable autorefractor allows the optometry clinic to quickly get a baseline for a patient’s prescription glasses. The mission of Pacific Angel is to upgrade education and health facilities in the area, as well as work to deepen local disaster response capabilities.

Deployable command, control system critical to Nepal earthquake relief
In this photo, deployable Joint Command and Control satellites send and receive communications information at the Joint Task Force 505 Intermediate Staging Base, Utapao Royal Thai Naval Airfield, Thailand, May 12. The satellite are part of the DJC2 system which is currently providing communications capability. DJC2 integrates software, hardware and processes to support a shared-information environment consisting of joint, coalition, multinational and nongovernmental agencies, and has proved to be an important communications tool during Operation Sahayogi Haat.

Palawan communities celebrate completion of new school facilities
PALAWAN, Philippines (Apr. 28, 2015) - U.S. military service members talk to children during exercise Balikatan 2015's San Rafael High School ribbon cutting ceremony in San Rafael. Construction of the BK15 humanitarian civic assistance projects started this past March with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, U.S. forces and Australian forces working shoulder-to-shoulder to construct a two-classroom building for Santa Lourdes National High School, Sabang Elementary School, San Rafael High School and San Rafael Elementary School. This year marks the 31st iteration of the exercise, which is an annual Philippine-U.S. bilateral military training exercise and humanitarian civic assistance engagement. USAF, PAF Develop Bilateral Rescue Techniques

Betty "Tack" Blake, 91, holds a model of a P-51 Mustang, her favorite aircraft to fly, in front of her home in Scottsdale, Ariz.
