USS America, 31st MEU commemorate 250 years with formation in Coral Sea
CORAL SEA (Aug. 2, 2025) — Sailors assigned to the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) and U.S. Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit stand in formation for a photo commemorating 250 years of naval service, while conducting operations in the Coral Sea, Aug. 2. America, lead ship of the America Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 7th Fleet, the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region. DARWIN, Australia (July 13, 2025) — U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Cindy Bollos, right, an ammo chief, and Lance Cpl. Jeziel Marin, a field artillery cannoneer, both with Kilo Battery, 3rd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 25.3, fire an M777 Howitzer during Talisman Sabre 25 in the Northern Territory, Australia, July 13, 2025. Talisman Sabre is the largest bilateral military exercise between Australia and the United States, advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific by strengthening relationships and interoperability among key allies and partners, while enhancing our collective capabilities to respond to a wide array of potential security concerns. MRF-D is an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and allies and partners and provide a forward postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific. Philippine Marines secure Department of Social Welfare and Development family food packs delivered by CV-22 Ospreys assigned to the 353rd Special Operations Wing at Basco, Philippines, July 30, 2025.
