US, Japanese Airmen conduct survival training during Cope North 16
Staff Sgt. Levi Wood, survival, evasion, resistance and escape instructor assigned to the 353rd Combat Training Squadron, shows visiting Japan Air Self-Defense Force airmen how to safely split bamboo to start a fire Feb. 16, 2016, at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Exercise Cope North 16 includes 22 total flying units and nearly 3,000 personnel from six countries and continues the growth of strong, interoperable and beneficial relationships within the Indo-Asia-Pacific Region through integration of airborne and land-based command and control assets.

RUTEX: Maritime Raid Force performs urban training
Staff Sgt. Travis Caron sets up satellite communications during a raid Jan. 13, 2015, as part of Realistic Urban Training Exercise on Guam. RUTEX is a high-intensity close-quarter battle training exercise conducted in an actual urban environment to provide a high degree of realism to the training. The exercise is part of the Maritime Raid Force’s pre-deployment training before their upcoming deployment with the 31st MEU. Caron, from Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, is the Force Reconnaissance Platoon communications chief with MRF, 31st MEU.

Littoral Combat Ship USS Fort Worth (LCS 3)
CHENNAI, INDIA (October 13, 2015) Officers from Indian Navy, Japan Maritime Self Defense Force and U.S. Navy meet together for an Executive Officer’s Call in the wardroom of the littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) as part of Exercise Malabar. Currently on a 16-month rotational deployment in support of the Indo-Asia-Pacific Rebalance, Fort Worth is a fast and agile warship tailor-made to patrol the region’s littorals and work hull-to-hull with partner navies, providing 7th Fleet with the flexible capabilities it needs now and in the future.

USNS Mercy arrives in Guam during Pacific Partnership 2015
U.S. NAVAL BASE GUAM (Sept. 4, 2015) - The hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) is docked at a pier at Naval Base Guam during Pacific Partnership 2015. Mercy made a port visit to Guam to offload personnel deployed aboard the ship for the past four months for PP15. Pacific Partnership is in its 10th iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary services to more than 38,000 animals. Additionally, the mission has provided critical infrastructure development to host nations through more than 180 engineering projects.

US Marines Support Disaster Relief Efforts in Saipan
SAIPAN HARBOR, Saipan (August 8, 2015) - Vehicles from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) are unloaded from the well deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) via Landing Craft Utility vehicle during disaster relief efforts in Saipan after Typhoon Soudelor made landfall. Ashland is assigned to the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group and is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.

USS Ashland Back to Sea After Port Visit in Guam
APRA HARBOR, Guam (Aug. 6, 2015) - Sailors and Marines load cases of water onto the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) in preparation for the ship getting underway to deploy to Saipan. 353rd SOG collaborates with 36th CRG to open Wake Island airfield

353rd SOG collaborates with 36th CRG to open Wake Island airfield
WAKE ISLAND AIRFIELD (July 20, 2015) - A combat controller from the 320th Special Tactics Squadron clears the first C-17 to land on Wake Island July 20, 2015 after it was hit by a typhoon. The special tactics team was the first to arrive to the island by military freefall jump from an MC-130H Combat Talon II. Members from the 353rd Special Operations Group worked with the 36th Contingency Response Group from Andersen Air Base, Guam, to open Wake Island air field after Typhoon Halola passed through the island.
