Navy Region Northwest Commander Makes Cordova Visit

CORDOVA, Alaska - Sailors from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Eight (HSC-8), currently embarked on the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), conduct a search and rescue swimmer (SAR) demonstration over Eyak Lake in Cordova, Alaska for members of the local community. The demonstration is part of a U.S. Navy community outreach effort held in conjunction with Exercise Northern Edge 2019. Northern Edge 2019 is an U.S. Indo-Pacific Command exercise that prepares joint forces to respond to crises in the Indo-Pacific.
