.S. Navy Divers Recover Oil from Wrecked WWII Prinz Eugen

KWAJALEIN ATOLL, Marshall Islands - Navy divers from Mobile Diving Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1, embarked aboard USNS Salvor (T-ARS-52), remove fuel oil from the capsized World War II German cruiser Prinz Eugen. The safe extraction of an estimated 250,000 gallons of fuel oil from Prinz Eugen began Sept. 1 and involved nearly two dozen divers along with support from commercial tanker Humber in collaboration with the government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands and U.S. Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll.
