Asia-Pacific Military Health Exchange Underway in Vietnam
DA NANG, Vietnam (Sept. 14, 2015) - The Vietnam People's Army and the United States Pacific Command are co-hosting the Asia Pacific Military Health Exchange (APMHE) in Da Nang, Vietnam, 14-18 September 2015. The APMHE will provide an opportunity to share emerging and recent scientific information and to discuss regional issues and concerns of military health significance. The event will include more than 400 participants from 23 nations in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

Hero and Remembrance Run, Walk or Roll event honors the fallen
A U.S. Navy running team consisting of chief petty officers and chief petty officers selects stretch after finishing the Fisher House Hero and Remembrance Run, Walk or Roll event at Ford Island, Sept. 5, 2015, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. More than 7,000 combat boots were placed along the 8K route, each adorned with a photo of a service member who gave their life while serving their country after 9/11.

70th anniversary of the end of WWII celebrated aboard battleship USS Missouri
JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (Sept. 2, 2015) - Members of the Defense Information Systems Agency Pacific Joint Honor Guard conduct a flag folding ceremony during the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II aboard the Battleship Missouri Memorial located on Ford Island. The ceremony honored and recognized sacrifices made by veterans of WWII and recognized the allied partnership between the United States and Japan today. The event began at 9:02 a.m., the exact time Gen. Douglas MacArthur began proceedings for the formal surrender of Imperial Japan 70 years ago.

Denise Wisniewski, Hawaii Army National Guard, Medical Detachment combat medic, teaches first responder medical techniques to members of the Malaysian armed forces as part of Exercise Keris Aman 2015 at the Segenting Camp. Keris Aman is the largest multinational training event this year and is co-hosted by the Malaysian armed forces and U.S. Pacific Command with representatives from 29 nations participating. DARWIN, Australia (July 8, 2015) - U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 18th Logistics Readiness Squadron from Kadena Air Base, Japan, partnered with the Australian Army during a refueling exercise at the Royal Australian Air Force Base during Talisman Sabre 2015. Talisman Sabre is a biennial exercise that provides an invaluable opportunity for nearly 30,000 U.S. and Australian defense forces to conduct operations in a combined, joint and interagency environment that will increase both countries' ability to plan and execute a full range of operations from combat missions to humanitarian assistance efforts.

USS Rushmore Aids 65 People at Sea Near Indonesia
MAKASSAR STRAIT (June 10, 2015) - A Sailor takes a woman to medical staff aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47). Rushmore rescued 65 people from a sinking craft in the Pacific Ocean between the Indonesian islands of Kalimantan and Sulawesi. Once on board, the rescued individuals were provided food and medical attention by Marines and Sailors from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Essex Amphibious Ready Group.

USNS Mercy conducts Community Health Engagement in Fiji during Pacific Partnership 2015
SUVA, Fiji (June 9, 2015) - Commander, Naval Medicine, Rear Adm. Bruce Gillingham speaks with Fijian health care workers at a community health engagement during Pacific Partnership 2015. The hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) is currently in Suva for its first mission port of PP15. Pacific Partnership is in its tenth iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary services to more than 38,000 animals. Critical infrastructure development has been supported in host nations during more than 180 engineering projects.

KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea (June 4, 2015) - A Republic of Korea Air Force KF-16 Fighting Falcon from the 123rd Fighter Squadron, Seosan Air Base, taxis on the flightline as two U.S. Air Force 35th Fighter Squadron F-16 Fighting Falcons prepare to taxi for a sortie at Kunsan Air Base during Exercise Buddy Wing 15-4. In an effort to enhance U.S. and ROKAF combat capability, Buddy Wing exercises are conducted multiple times throughout the year on the peninsula to sharpen interoperability between the allied forces so that if need be, they are always ready to fight as a combined force.
