The bomber deployment underscores the U.S. military’s commitment to regional security and demonstrates a unique ability to rapidly deploy on short notice. The B-52 is a long-range, heavy bomber that is capable of flying at high subsonic speeds of altitudes of up to 50,000 feet and provides the U.S. with a global strike capability.

USS Topeka Arrives in Hawaii for Change of Homeport
The Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Topeka (SSN 754) arrives in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, after completing a change of homeport from Guam, Dec. 15. Topeka’s ability to support a multitude of missions, including anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface ship warfare, strike warfare, surveillance and reconnaissance, has made Topeka one of the most capable submarines in the world.

Andersen kicks off 69th Operation Christmas Drop with Push Ceremony
Bundles housed in the 734th Air Mobility Squadron warehouse await to be loaded onto a C-130J Hercules during the Operation Christmas Drop “Push” Ceremony at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Dec. 7, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution and in coordination with public health officials, donated items were stored in a controlled COVID free environment for more than 24 hours prior to being packed in bundles to limit the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Seabees Continue Construction on Camp Tinian
TINIAN, Northern Mariana Islands (Nov. 5, 2020) Builder 3rd Class Matthew Gurrera, from Howell, N.J., deployed with the Seabee expeditionary construction and engineering capability of Task Force 75, marks out trusses for fascia installation in support of Southwest Asia hut construction on Camp Tinian. CTF 75 is 7th Fleet's primary expeditionary task force and is responsible for the planning and execution of maritime security operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving, engineering and construction, and underwater construction throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

America Expeditionary Strike Group

Cutter arrives at Apra Harbor
Coast Guard Cutter Myrtle Hazard (WPC 1139) steams through Apra Harbor before arriving at its new homeport in Santa Rita, Guam. The new Fast Response Cutter (FRC) is the first of three scheduled to be stationed on Guam and is replacing the 30-year old 110-foot Island-class patrol boats. FRCs are equipped with new advanced command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems and boast greater range and endurance.

U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons assigned to the 18th Aggressor Squadron, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, sit on the flightline in support of Valiant Shield 2020 at Andersen AFB, Guam, Sept. 11, 2020. Valiant Shield is a U.S. only, biennial field training exercise (FTX) with a focus on integration of joint training in a blue-water environment among U.S. forces.
