Aircraft from the United States and Japan participate in a COPE North 2019 airpower demonstration formation over the Pacific Ocean, March 6, 2019. CN19 is a long-standing exercise designed to enhance multilateral air operations amongst partner nations and includes humanitarian assistance and disaster relief airlift operations as well as large-force employment. Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class Brenden Pieszak hoists Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class Ty Nichols, both assigned to the “Island Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, from the deck of the MV Arcadia while providing emergency assistance to a cruise passenger in distress during a MEDEVAC. HSC-25 provides a multi-mission rotary wing capability for units in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations and maintains a Guam-based 24-hour search-and-rescue and medical evacuation capability, directly supporting U.S. Coast Guard and Joint Region Marianas. HSC-25 is the Navy’s only forward-deployed MH-60S expeditionary squadron.

For the first time, the Guam ARNG took over a mission from the U.S. Army's 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command to provide security forces support for Task Force Talon, responsible for operating the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Battery at Andersen Air Force Base.

Sailors assigned to Coastal Riverine Group (CRG) 1 oversee the lifting of a MK VI patrol boat in order to perform yearly scheduled maintenance at the Port Authority in Guam on Jan. 11, 2017. CRG 1 is assigned to Commander, Task Force 75, which is the primary expeditionary task force responsible for the planning and execution of coastal riverine operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving engineering and construction, and underwater construction in the U.S. 7th fleet area of operations.
