Blue Ridge Makes Port Call in Goa
GOA, India (April 8, 2016) - Commanding Officer of the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), Capt. Matt Paradise, is welcomed to Goa by a ceremonial representative from the Indian Navy. It is customary for a ship conducting a port call in India to be greeted by a ceremonial member of their service to their country. Blue Ridge is currently on patrol in the 7th Fleet area of operations strengthening and fostering relationships within the Indo-Asia-Pacific.

BUSAN, Republic of Korea (March 9, 2016) - U.S. Navy Lt. Van Nguyen, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 133, speaks with Rear. Adm. Bill Byrne, commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea (CNFK), during a tour of a joint U.S. and ROK Seabee construction site during exercise Foal Eagle 2016. U.S. Navy Seabees, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 133, and ROK Seabees are working hand-in-hand to construct various expeditionary facilities during the exercise. USS Boxer Transiting the Sea of Japan During Exercise Ssang Yong
EAST SEA (March 8, 2016) The amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) transits the east sea during Exercise Ssang Yong 2016. Boxer is the flagship of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and is participating in exercise Ssang Yong 16. Ssang Yong 16 is a biennial combined amphibious exercise conducted by forward-deployed U.S. forces with the Republic of Korea Navy and Marine Corps, Australian Army and Royal New Zealand Army Forces in order to strengthen our interoperability and working relationships across a wide range of military operations - from disaster relief to complex expeditionary operations.

Boxer, Bonhomme Richard and Dokdo Amphibious Ready Groups Operating Together During Exercise Ssang Yong
WATERS EAST OF KOREA (March 8, 2016) - U.S. ships from the Boxer and Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Groups are underway with the Dokdo Amphibious Ready Group from the Republic of Korea during Ssang Yong 2016. The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps team are committed to the ROK-U.S. Alliance and conduct exercises regularly to ensure interoperability and maintain strong working relationships to support the sovereignty of the Republic of Korea. Ssang Yong familiarizes American armed forces with the Korean peninsula and builds upon the strong preexisting relationship between the two militaries.

Operation Tomodachi: Five Years Later
WASHINGTON (March 2, 2016) Members of the U.S. Marine Corps and Japan Self-Defense Force bands perform "Flower will Bloom" during a commemoration ceremony for the 5 year anniversary of Operation Tomodachi at the Pentagon. Cobra Gold 16: Lasting friendship built on multinational cooperation
Distinguished visitors walk to the reviewing area to begin the dedication ceremony of a one-room multi-purpose educational building Feb. 18 at Ban Sa Yai, Trat, Thailand. The construction at Ban Sa Yai was one of six humanitarian civic action sites in which the Thai, U.S. and partner nation’s militaries will worked together on civic programs during Cobra Gold 2016. The HCA programs will help improve the quality of life, as well as the general health and welfare of civilian residents in the exercise areas.

Levi Wood, survival, evasion, resistance and escape instructor assigned to the 353rd Combat Training Squadron, shows visiting Japan Air Self-Defense Force airmen how to safely split bamboo to start a fire Feb. 16, 2016, at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Exercise Cope North 16 includes 22 total flying units and nearly 3,000 personnel from six countries and continues the growth of strong, interoperable and beneficial relationships within the Indo-Asia-Pacific Region through integration of airborne and land-based command and control assets.

TRAP: Never Leave a Marine Behind
Sgt. Eric M. Ekelund prepares an MV-22B Osprey to land the tactical recovery of aircraft and personal force during a Cobra Gold 16 demonstration at Utapao, Thailand February 15. During the scenario-based training the MV-22B Osprey unloads the TRAP force personnel so they can continue on foot to rescue the simulated casualty. Cobra Gold is a multi-national exercise that focuses on increasing relationships and capabilities of participating countries by training to form solutions to common challenges. Ekelund, from Bay Shore, New York is with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
