USS Shoup participates in a live fire exercise
(July 18, 2016) - The HMAS Ballarat (FFH 155), USS Mobile Bay (CG 53), CNS Cochrane (FF 05) INS Satpura (F48), HMCS Calgary (FFH 335), and USS Shoup (DDG 35) steam in formation in preparation for a live fire exercise during Rim of the Pacific 2016. Twenty-six nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 30 to Aug. 4, in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2016 is the 25th exercise in the series that began in 1971.

US Marines awarded for work in Australia

US, Aussies conduct joint refueling for Talisman Sabre 2015
NORTHERN TERRITORY, ACT, Australia (July 13, 2015) - A Royal Australian Air Force KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport refuels a RAAF F/A-18 Hornet alongside other U.S. and Australian fighters during a refueling training exercise as part of Talisman Sabre 2015. U.S. and Australian forces are conducting air refueling missions throughout the Talisman Sabre 2015 exercise to improve interoperability and familiarization with each other's procedures. Talisman Sabre is a biennial exercise that provides an invaluable opportunity for nearly 30,000 U.S. and Australian defense forces to conduct operations in a combined, joint and interagency environment that will increase both countries' ability to plan and execute a full range of operations from combat missions to humanitarian assistance efforts.

ROCKHAMPTON, Australia (July 6, 2015) - Australian Brigadier Mark Brewer (Left), Deputy Mayor of Rockhampton Tony Williams (Center), and U.S. Army Brigadier General Brian Alvin pose for a photo in front of an Australian Tiger Attack Helicopter during the Exercise Talisman Sabre 15 Open Day Ceremony. The event had service members from U.S., Australian and New Zealand militaries, static displays, military history re-enactors and cultural displays. The exercise is a biennial event where all militaries practice their interoperability skill and to strengthen the partnership between the forces.
