CJCS Hosts ROK Counterpart for 41st ROK-MCM
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph F. Dunford hosted his Republic of Korea counterpart Gen. Lee Sun Jin for the 41st ROK-U.S. Military Committee Meeting at the Pentagon. Both senior military leaders strongly denounced North Korea's nuclear and missile provocations, stating they pose a serious threat to the Korean Peninsula, to the region, and to global peace and stability.

NOLES 16: Mongolian Armed Forces, U.S. Marines train for riot situation
Mongolian Armed Forces soldiers push through a simulated riot during Non-Lethal Executive Seminar (NOLES) 2016 at the Five Hills Training Area, Mongolia, Sept. 19, 2016. Mongolian soldiers and Mongolian National Police learned various riot control formations where they can implement non-lethal weapons tactics learned through the exercise. NOLES is a regularly scheduled field training exercise and leadership seminar hosted annually by various nations throughout Asia Pacific.

Marines from Bravo Co., “Black Sheep,” 1st Bn., 12th Marines, participated in exercise Spartan Fury 16.4. Spartan Fury is a pre-deployment exercise in which service members conduct live-fire artillery training and unit leaders are able to further assess and improve the lethality of the battalion.

Advancing as One
A Republic of Korea, or ROK, Marine sights in alongside U.S. Marines as ROK Assault Amphibious Vehicles shoot off smoke behind them July 6, 2016 at Suseong Range, South Korea during a Korean Marine Exchange Program, or KMEP. The goal of the KMEP is to sustain the combined force and enhance the ROK-U.S. team at the tactical level to build combined warfighting capabilities. During this exercise the Marines carried out a bilateral regimental-sized Marine Air-Ground Task Force operation for the first time. The ROK Marines were a part of 73rd Battalion, 7th Regiment, 1st Marine Division. U.S. service members participating in KMEP 16-11 as part of the ground combat element are with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force through the unit deployment program.

Task Force Koa Moana: Building from the basics

Steed, from Pagosa Springs, Colorado, is an infantryman with Task Force Koa Moana, originally assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
