This is the first exercise for U.S. Marines and service members of the Papua New Guinea Defence Force. The exercise is designed to increase interoperability and relations by sharing infantry, engineering, law enforcement and medical skills. Steed, from Pagosa Springs, Colorado, is an infantryman with Task Force Koa Moana, originally assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
