Nimitz Strike Group Concludes Malabar 2020 with Australia, India and Japan
Ships from the Royal Australian Navy, Indian Navy, Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, and the United States Navy participate in Malabar 2020. Malabar 2020 is the latest in a continuing series of exercises that has grown in scope and complexity over the years to address the variety of shared threats to maritime security in the Indo-Asia Pacific where the U.S. Navy has patrolled for more than 70 years promoting regional peace and security. Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.

USS Antietam Returns to Yokosuka Following 260-day Deployment
Cryptologic Technician (Technical) 1st Class Brittany Britos, from Fort Collins, Colo., mans the rails as the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Antietam (CG 54) returns to port, Yokosuka, Japan. Antietam’s return marked the end of a nine-month deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

USS Curtis Wilbur Daily Operations

Leave and Liberty now Exempt from COVID Travel Restrictions
Sailors from the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile-destroyer USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) depart the ship following deployment. Forrest Sherman returned to Norfolk Naval Station after a regularly scheduled nine-month deployment in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation. The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group has remained underway during their sustainment phase of OFRP as a ready carrier strike group during the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Sailors man the rails as the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) arrives in Maura, Brunei, for Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Brunei.
