Xavier T. Brunson, commander of United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and United States Forces Korea; and U.S. Lt. Gen. Stephen F. Jost is the Commander, U.S. Forces, Japan, and Commander, Fifth Air Force, Pacific Air Forces on July 11, 2025 in Seoul, South Korea at the Trilateral Chiefs of Defense meeting. During the meeting the three defense chiefs reaffirmed that the trilateral security cooperation has played a key role in promoting peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and in the Indo-Pacific. The nearly 30 day construction project involved Airmen working alongside their Thai and Indonesian counterparts. The ENCAP is part of Cobra Gold 23’s emphasis on civic action and humanitarian assistance to further regional collaboration in vital areas. Cobra Gold, now in its 42nd year, is a Thai-U.S. co-sponsored training event that builds on the longstanding friendship between the two allied nations and brings together a robust multinational force to promote regional peace and security in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
