U.S. Army Reserve Sgt. Soonafai Seloti, Forward Support Company 411th Engineer Battalion, 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, 9th Mission Support Command, connects the fuel hose of a U.S. Army Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck to refuel a U.S. Air Force F-35 Lightning II, 4th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, June 22, 2026, at Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, as part of exercise Valiant Shield 2026. This is the 11th iteration of exercise Valiant Shield, which began in 2006 as a unilateral U.S. exercise, and has now evolved with demands of the security environment, incorporating new technology and strategies to further enhance the lethality of the joint fighting force.
