NAGASAKI, Japan (April, 5, 2025) — A Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7 transits the Juliet Basin alongside the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Kongo-class guided-missile destroyer JS Kongo (DDG 173) at Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo (CFAS) in support of the Sasebo Fleet Friendship Day open-base event April 5, 2025. CFAS opened its main base complex to the public to celebrate the friendship and partnership between the U.S. Navy, Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF), and the local Japanese community.
