241208-N-JS660-2301 PACIFIC OCEAN - (Dec. 8, 2024) U.S. Navy Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 1st Class Reyvin Olaes, a native of Cavite, Philippines, signals to a U.S. Marine Corps AH-1Z Viper assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 169, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, as it takes off from the flight deck of amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25) during Steel Knight 24 while underway in the Pacific Ocean, Dec. 8, 2024. Steel Knight is an annual exercise that takes place in multiple locations across the Southwest that allows I Marine Expeditionary Force to train as a full Marine Air-Ground Task Force and better integrate with joint and naval forces.
