HMCS Montr�al, BRP Jose Rizal, BRP Ramon Alcarez and USS Lake Erie sail in formation during a multilateral maritime cooperative activity involving Australia, Canada, the Philippines and the United States, conducted off the coast within the Philippines Exclusive Economic Zone. *** Local Caption *** Australia, Canada, the Philippines and the United States conducted a Maritime Cooperative Activity off the coast of Palawan and Northern Luzon and within the Philippines' Exclusive Economic Zone on 7-8 August 2024. 

The activity included a Royal Australian Air Force P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft, Royal Canadian Navy vessel HMCS Montr�al with its embarked helicopter, Philippine Navy vessels BRP Jose Rizal and BRP Ramon Alcarez with embarked helicopters and United States Navy vessel USS Lake Erie with its embarked helicopter.

The Maritime Cooperative Activity demonstrates a shared commitment to transparently promote and strengthen regional and international cooperation in support of an open and inclusive Indo-Pacific and upholding the right to freedom of navigation and overflight in accordance with international law, particularly the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
