Karl Thomas, center, Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, and Republic of Korea Navy (ROK-N) Vice Adm. Myung-soo Kim, Commander, ROK-N Fleet, dine in the in-port cabin aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during a tri-lateral summit, Oct. 8. The embarkation included a tour of Ronald Reagan and facilitated talks between flag officers representing U.S., JMSDF, and ROK-N forces. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
