AFFF Soil Excavation and Removal Completed

The excavation and removal of aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) contaminated soil at Adit Six was completed on Dec. 7, 2022.

HONOLULU - Entrance to Adit Six of Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility (RHBFSF) at Halawa, Hawaii, Dec. 9, 2022. The excavation and removal of aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) contaminated soil at Adit Six was completed on Dec. 7, 2022; sampling of the site was taken the same day. Tarps protect the site from rainwater while sampling is being conducted. JTF-RH was established by the Department of Defense to ensure the safe and expeditious defueling of the RHBFSF.
