Carrier Strike Group 11 Changes Command at Sea Aboard USS Nimitz

Rear Adm. Yvette Davids, commander of Carrier Strike Group 11, and Rear Adm. Jim Kirk, the prospective commander of CSG-11, salute during a change of command ceremony on the flight deck aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is an intensive exercise designed to fully integrate units of the carrier strike group, while testing a strike group’s ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea.
