ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One established high-frequency radio communications from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit One operating over 2,000 miles away in Adak, Alaska during Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE) 2019 with high frequency antennas (pictured). Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One is testing a variety of communications to prepare for operating in austere environments supporting EOD forces in eliminating explosive threats. AECE is one in a series of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command exercises in 2019 that prepares joint forces to respond to crises in the Indo-Pacific.
