Capt. Pat Hannifin, commanding officer of the Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), and Capt. Forrest Young, commanding officer of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, lay a wreath into the Coral Sea during a remembrance ceremony for USS Lexington (CV 2). Ronald Reagan is the first aircraft carrier to commemorate Lexington since the discovery of the wreckage in 2018. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
