JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii - Officials from the Department of Defense, Commonwealth Port Authority, and the government of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands signed a $21.9 lease agreement May 3, 2019, at Tinian Airport, CNMI. The $21.9 million lease deal is intended to allow the U.S. Air Force to divert aircraft to Tinian for training and operations, while also spurring economic growth on the island of Tinian.
