Malaysian Armed Forces Host Medical Evacuation Exercise During PP19

KUCHING, Malaysia - U.S. Navy Lt. Nube Macancela, assigned to Pacific Partnership 2019 (PP19), assists Malaysian Army Dr. Harveen kaur Gill and Dr. Soon Kok Jie as they work to save a simulated patient during a medical evacuation exercise at Malaysian Armed Forces 1st Division Headquarters. The event helps PP19 partner nations enhance their humanitarian assistance and disaster relief capabilities. Pacific Partnership, now in its 14th iteration, is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Each year the mission team works collectively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security and stability in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
