USS Anchorage conducts at-sea exercise with Sri Lanka Navy

INDIAN OCEAN - San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and embarked U.S. Marines with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conduct an exercise with the Sri Lanka Navy while on a regularly scheduled deployment as part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG). USS Anchorage and the embarked Marines of the 13th MEU conducted a theater security cooperation exercise with the Sri Lankan Navy and Navy Marines. Part of a growing U.S.-Sri Lanka naval partnership, the exercise is also an opportunity for U.S. Seventh Fleet to explore local logistics support services for visiting naval forces operating throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
