USS Ashland Arrives in Guam for VRAV during Indo-Asia-Pacific Deployment

APRA HARBOR, Guam - Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Tyler Johnson from Saltsburg, Pa., guides the brow onto the quarterdeck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) as it arrives at Naval Base Guam. Ashland is in Guam for a scheduled voyage repair availability (VRAV) while Marines of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit will conduct unit-level training ashore, Aug. 29, 2017). Ashland and the 31st MEU are operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance partnerships and be a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
