The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) underway behind the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Shoup (DDG 86), USS Howard (DDG 83) and USS Pinckney (DDG 91) during a straits transit exercise while underway for a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment, Mar. 25, 2017. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
