U.S., ROK Marines conduct parachute operations

Republic of Korea Marines with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, and U.S. Marines with 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force prepare to start parachute operations from a U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook, at Josari drop zone, ROK, March 16, 2017, as part of Korea Marine Exercise Program 17-6. KMEP is carried out in the spirit of the Republic of Korea-U.S. Mutual Defense Treaty signed between the two nations October 1, 1953.
