Japan Ground Self Defense Force soldiers with the Western Army Infantry Regiment conduct a squad movement during a live fire training event as apart of Exercise Iron Fist, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 13, 2017. During the live fire, Japanese soldiers moved as a squad while facing simulated enemy forces. Iron Fist is an annual, bilateral training exercise where U.S. and Japanese service members train together and share techniques, tactics and procedures to improve their combined operational capabilities.
