Joint mission almost complete on Saipan

CAPITOL HILL, Saipan (Aug. 18, 2015) - Rear Adm. Bette Bolivar, Commander Joint Region Marianas, speaks with Saipan media during a press conference with Federal Emergency Management Agency Federal Coordinating Officer Steve DeBlasio, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Gov. Eloy Inos, Lt. Gov. Ralph Torres, and Lt. Col. Eric Malinowski, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit Liaison, August 18. The press conference was scheduled to address the military’s involvement in disaster relief efforts in Saipan after Typhoon Soudelor, and to announce the departure of the Navy and Marine Corps from the island, as the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Red Cross, and local government take over relief efforts.
