Capt. Eric J. Anduze, commanding officer of the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) answers questions from media representatives following the ship's arrival in Jakarta, for a port visit. During the visit, Blue Ridge and Commander, 7th Fleet Sailors will engage in local culture, host military-to-military engagements, and build relationships through music and public service activities throughout Jakarta. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.

International Navy ships assemble for a photo exercise off the coast of Hawaii during the Rim of Pacific Exercise (RIMPAC) 2018, on July 26. Twenty-six nations, more than 45 ships and submarines, about 200 aircraft, and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships between participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea-lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2018 is the 26th exercise in the series that began in 1971.
