USS Louisiana Depart Naval Base Guam
(June 4, 2024) –The Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Louisiana (SSBN 743) departs U.S. Naval Base Guam following a scheduled port visit, June 4. This port visit reflects the strategic importance of Guam and the United States' commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific region. The visit further enhances significant partnerships shared between DoD, the government of Guam and the island community. The presence of the SSBN in Guam demonstrates the flexibility, survivability, readiness, and capability of the U.S. Navy submarine forces and complements the many exercises, training, operations, and other military cooperation activities conducted by Strategic Forces to ensure they are available and ready to operate around the globe at any time. U.S. Army Soldiers with Task Force Warrior meet their Tentara Nacional Indonesia (Indonesian Armed Forces) counterparts on July 27, 2021 at Baturaja Training Area, Indonesia in preparation for Garuda Shield 21. Garuda Shield 21 is a two-week joint-exercise between the United States Army and Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI-AD Indonesia Armed Forces). The purpose of this joint-exercise is to enhance and enrich the jungle warfare ability of both the U.S. Army and Indonesian Army.

USS Green Bay, embarked Marines support Cobra Gold in Gulf of Thailand
A landing craft, air cushion (LCAC) enters the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) during Cobra Gold 22. Cobra Gold 22 is the 41st iteration of the exercise and validates the commitment of the U.S. to the U.S.-Thai alliance through operations that strengthen bonds, build interoperability, enhance tactical skills and exchange expertise. Green Bay, part of the USS America (LHA 6) Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is operating as part of the Task Force 76 composite deployment of expeditionary forces in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

Commander of Marine Forces Pacific Visits Republic of Palau
U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Steven R. Rudder, commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, participates in a global video teleconference during the Pacific Amphibious Leaders Symposium (PALS) 21.2 at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii, Oct. 6, 2021. This iteration of PALS brought senior leaders of allied and partner militaries together to discuss Marine Corps Force Design 2030, expeditionary advanced base operations, intermediate force capabilities, and ways to improve interoperability between partners within the Indo-Pacific region. A total of 20 allies and partners from Asia, Australia, Europe, South America, and North America participated in the symposium. Destroyer Squadrons 7, 15 Train Together to Sharpen Sea Combat Commander Skills
The amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42), left, the underway replenishment oiler USNS John Ericsson (T-AO 194), the guided-missile cruiser USS Antietam (CG 54), the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67), the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18), and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45) break away from formation in support of Valiant Shield 2020. Valiant Shield is a U.S. only, biennial field training exercise (FTX) with a focus on integration of joint training in a blue-water environment among U.S. forces. This training enables real-world proficiency in sustaining joint forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.

Republic of Korea Navy Surgeon General Visits Navy Medicine West
Mr. Mark Boman, Navy Medicine West (NMW) chief of staff, thanks Capt. Jung Tae Park, Republic of Korea (ROK) Navy surgeon general, for visiting NMW regional headquarters during Park™s recent visit to San Diego. Boman and Park met to discuss ongoing partnerships and medical initiatives between NMW and the ROK Navy. NMW provides medical care to nearly 700,000 beneficiaries across 10 naval hospitals, two dental battalions, and 51 branch clinics located throughout the West Coast of the U.S., Asia, and the Pacific. Globally, NMW also has oversight of eight research laboratories across the U.S. and overseas that deliver high-value, high-impact research products to support and protect the health and readiness of service members.
