U.S. Navy, JMSDF EOD Technicians Strengthen Ties during Mine Exercise
Explosive ordnance disposal technicians assigned to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and the U.S. Navy participate in a live bottom mine contact charge demonstration during IWOTO 2019. IWOTO 2019 is one of the largest live mine countermeasures exercises conducted in the entire world, providing personnel with the opportunity to conduct contact charges and FMRs against real mines without sensor packages.

USS Spruance, USS Stockdale Return Home from Deployment
Sailors assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) man the rails as the ship pulls into San Diego May 20. The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers Spruance and USS Stockdale (DDG 106), including detachments from Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 71 “Raptors,” returned to their homeport of San Diego following a deployment to the U.S. 7th Fleet and 5th Fleet areas of operations as part of the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group.

PP19 Concludes Vietnam Mission Stop
The Pacific Partnership 2019 team poses for a group photo with government leaders from Phu Yen Province during the closing ceremony in Vietnam to foster bonds of friendship and trust during Pacific Partnership 2019.
