Sailors aboard the submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39) man the rails as the ship returns from deployment, April 11, 2016. The return to Guam is Emory S. Land's first, since changing homeport from Diego Garcia to Guam Dec. 23. Emory S. Land is an expeditionary submarine tender conducting coordinated tended moorings and afloat maintenance in the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations.

U.S. Marines Vs. Wild: MALUS AMPHEX 15 teaches jungle survival
TANDUO, Malaysia (Nov. 11, 2015)- A Malaysian Army officer explains to U.S. Marines with Kilo Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, how to build a wild game trap using vines and wood in a jungle survival course during Malaysia-United States Amphibious Exercise 2015. During the course, Marines learned to build multiple traps, and snares. The purpose of the exercise was to strengthen military cooperation in the planning and execution of amphibious operations between Malaysian armed forces and U.S. Marines. The 15th MEU is currently deployed in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to promote regional stability and security in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.

U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Richard Simcock and Australian Brig. Mick Ryan salute Marines with 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, as they pass in review Oct. 5 at the end of a farewell ceremony hosted by 1st Brigade, Australian Army, at Robertson Barracks, Northern Territory, Australia. U.S. Marines and partner-nation soldiers culminate Exercise Tafakula 15
U.S. Marines with Company B, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, conduct patrol-based operations and engage in platoon-level attacks with troops from His Majesty’s Armed Forces of Tonga, the New Zealand Defence Force, the French Army of New Caledonia and the Tongan Royal Guards during their culminating event for Exercise Tafakula 15 Sept. 9-11 on Tongatapu Island, Tonga. Each military force split into integrated platoons for the event that comprised of 72 hours of patrolling, land navigation and attacking mock enemy positions. The rotational deployment of U.S. Marines in Darwin affords unprecedented combined training opportunities such as Exercise Tafakula and improves interoperability between the involved forces.

The guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69) returns to homeport following a 250-day independent deployment. Milius transited nearly 71,000 nautical miles while conducting presence operations and goodwill activities with partner nations while deployed to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleets.

USS Rushmore Aids 65 People at Sea Near Indonesia
MAKASSAR STRAIT (June 10, 2015) - A Sailor takes a woman to medical staff aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47). Rushmore rescued 65 people from a sinking craft in the Pacific Ocean between the Indonesian islands of Kalimantan and Sulawesi. Once on board, the rescued individuals were provided food and medical attention by Marines and Sailors from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Essex Amphibious Ready Group.
