MELBOURNE, Australia - U.S. Marine Corps Col. George Flynn, the commanding officer of Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 26, and a Royal Australian Air Force officer salute after laying wreaths before the Eternal Flame during a 9/11 memorial service at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, Australia, Sept. 10, 2026. MRF-D is an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and allies and partners and provide a forward-postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific.
