LAE, Papua New Guinea - U.S. Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer 3 Shaun Corrigan introduces areas of training to participants during a walkthrough at the Port of Lae, Aug. 10, 2026, Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. Participants will receive instruction in search and extraction, oil spill response, medical response, site security, and camp management before taking part in a hands-on scenario designed to test the skills and procedures developed throughout the training. Subject matter experts from the Wisconsin National Guard, CFE-DMHA, U.S. Coast Guard, Papua New Guinea Defence Force, International Organisation for Migration, Morobe Public Health Authority and National Maritime Safety Authority are leading the training.
