Six passengers aboard a canoe were located in a joint search and rescue mission June 25, 2018, in the Pacific Ocean Southwest of Guam. Crew members flying a B-52H Stratofortress assigned to the 20th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron (EBS), stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base (AFB), La., and deployed to Andersen AFB, Guam, successfully located six passengers who had been missing for six days and relayed their location to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Air Force Biomedical Science Corps celebrates 53rd anniversary
The U.S. Air Force recognizes the achievements and diversity of the men and women of the Biomedical Sciences Corps during BSC Appreciation Week. Maj. John J. Kim, 36th Medical Operations Squadron staff optometrist, is here to help Airmen and their families meet their occupational, school, and readiness visual needs by offering adult and pediatric comprehensive eye exams, eye disease screening and management, PRK/LASIK pre and post-operative care, and standard issue eyewear, gas mask and ballistic eyewear inserts. "One of the greatest joys as part of an eye care team is having a parent share their child's remarkable visual and academic improvement with their new spectacle prescription," Kim says. "Those moments are what we love about optometry!"
