Arctic Ice Bridge

The 617th Bombardment Squadron was one of four Tuskegee Airmen bomber squadrons during WWII that made up the 477th Bombardment Group. 962nd AACS, 970th AACS conduct total force mission

Air Force Reveals Cold Facts on New Arctic Strategy
Northern Edge 2017 is part of a joint training exercise scheduled for May 1-12, 2017, at several Alaska military installations and training areas. The exercise includes U.S. active duty, Reserve and National Guard component Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines. NE17 will focus on tactical-level executions of U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM) training modules in a joint training environment. Air Force partners for environmental conservation on Wake Atoll
Birds fly and nest in the bird sanctuary on Wilkes Island at Wake Atoll April 11, 2017. The sanctuary has approximately 40,000 birds and 12 species on an island less than one square mile in size. The U.S. Air Force, through partnerships with agencies such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, have worked in recent years to restore Wake Atoll to a more natural habit for its bird population and rid the three islands of invasive plant species. Wake Atoll, made up of the tropical islands of Wilkes, Wake and Peale, is located approximately 2,138 nautical miles west of Honolulu, has a population of roughly 100 residents including Air Force personnel and American and Thai contractors, and is managed by the Pacific Air Forces Regional Support Center under 11th Air Force at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska

U.S. Army Alaska Soldiers assigned to the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, prepare to jump out of a C-17 Globemaster III during a formation flight from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Oct. 19, 2016. Although not instrumental in the creation of airborne operations, JBER has played a significant role in its continued development when the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division was created in 2005 as the only airborne BCT in the Pacific theater.
