The Arleigh Burke-Class destroyer Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) and her crew arrives to their new homeport of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Sept. 13, 2018. The ship, which was previously homeported in San Diego, is named after Rear Adm. Wayne E. Meyer, who is known as the "Father of Aegis".

Kathryn Sanborn (center, left) met with Emergency Operation Center (EOC) personnel Sept. 11, 2018, discussing changes or updates on the USACE response to Typhoon Mangkhut that ravaged the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Tropical Storm Olivia that is expected to make landfall tonight in the eastern Hawaiian Islands. USACE has more than 100 personnel engaged and coordinating with local, state, and federal response in preparation for potential FEMA mission assignments in the storm areas.

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher Rucker, a crew chief assigned to the 509th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, marshals a B-2 Spirit returning from a routine training mission at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Sept. 6, 2018. The B-2s deployed to JBPH-H from Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, in support of the U.S. Strategic Command’s (USSTRATCOM) Bomber Task Force deployment. USSTRATCOM regularly tests and evaluates the readiness of strategic assets to ensure they are able to honor U.S. security commitments.

David Ige, Hawaii-based service members from every branch of service, Department of Defense (DoD) personnel and military and DoD families form a human chain in the shape of a yellow suicide awareness ribbon in support of National Suicide Awareness Month during the Joint Services Suicide Prevention Proclamation signing at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Ige, military leadership and Military and Family Support Center came together as a community to pledge to help prevent suicide-related deaths.
